st pats in Roma!

mostly this post is for you ma- i have been thinking about you tonight and how much you'll love this picture
but also daddio i must say how cool it is that almost every place i go in Rome i have memories of you and i- or that the ones we miss i regret you not getting to see-(nostalgic moment) yesterday we went to the bone church- which is all mosaics (sort of) made out of friar bones- and guess where it was? next to where our hotel shuttle picked us up! like RIGHT there- you couldnt take pictures but i have a postcard to show- actually i think gayle would have liked it the most- hip bones making angel wings (more like cherub wings for skulls?) kinda creepy but cool too-
today we went to Santa Maria in Cosmedin which has this sculpture "the mouth of truth" legend has it your hand will get cut off if you're a liar- of course mine survived (duh!) then tonight we went to a local pizza and beer place to watch the roma -juventus game.... it was a sad loss. 1-4 anyways love you more updates soon- i just had to show you my delicious, chocolateorange, strawberry, and lemon gelato dipped in chocolate with fresh cream was! love you

i do think the bone church sounds great! i think the gelato sounds like a miserable tummy hurt to me =) love you

ReplyDeleteLove the pics honey but i must say that you are sporting some serious St. Pats beer smile and tired eyes (I know this look) on the shoulder ride . It all looks like fun and I miss you and Roma lots. I remember that bus stop corner like a map...i could march you to the Spanish Steps without missing a turn.
