Hey blog fam

im not adding pictures because im still editing them and Jenn has a bunch from the Hofbrau haus which i didnt take many at- also its pretty much bed time after this amazing weekend- but im dying to tell you a little..... so i will

thursday was quite an experience because just jenn and i went to munich and she had class in jfrc til noon and i was downtown with art in rome, so we had to just meet at the gate and hope eachother made it there fine.  3 people spoke rapid italian to me on the train but 1 i actually knew what she wanted! which was cool- then i got through the airport without any trouble which was surprising- then our flight took off really late which annoyed us but we were so excited for the weekend we didnt really care- 

the munich subway system is really nice- its safe and fairly easy to get used to- 

there is a 30 minute shuttle that gets you from flughafen (airport) to hauptbahnhof (train station) and our hostel was a 2 minute walk from there

we were hungry for sausage when we got in, so we dropped our bags and headed 2 stops east on the S-Bahn to Marienplatz which is where the Glockenspiel plays and by hofbrau haus and an awesome market.  we wandered until we decided we were too hungry to walk anymore and ended up in Ratskeller which of course is the one place George (Jenn's bro) said we couldnt miss- but we didnt know that at the time- basically we did everything right on this trip.  so we had some beer and delicious sausages and potato salad then called an early night after some planning of everything we wanted to see the next 3 days

friday started with a delicious pretzel as every day should- we headed out early for Dachau where we watched an english historical film then spent couple hours touring the grounds- it was pretty heavy stuff- definitely didnt sit well, but also good that it's remembered i guess.

after dachau we went to the Englischer Gartens which im sure are super beautiful when its a bit warmer because they were nice in grey kinda rainy weather- there were massive bier gartens which looked so fun and a pond and the Chinese tower, but everything kinda wet considering the mornings rain. we spent a long time there wandering, grabbed a soup in the See Haus right by the boating pond- then headed home to freshen up and go to another bier hall for another amazing dinner- i cant remember the name ill edit this tomorrow- something like augins....something- ill work on that sorry- that place was a ton of fun too- i ate so much this weekend it was incredible

saturday we started off with a walk through the market and then listened to the Glockenspiel clock at 11- i made a really cool video on my camera of the music- then we stumbled into this toy museum which had a barbie 50th anniversary exhibit- so we HAd to go- the lady charged us childrens admission which we thought was funny- then we went back into the market and grabbed an early lunch at bratwurstherzel, which may have been one of my favorite places- we sat right by the kitchen area so we got to see the massive amount of sausages getting grilled- this is where jenn realized she liked sauerkraut haha- and she had a Radler bier- which is lemonade in your beer....

we stopped in St. Peter'skirche which was beautiful and Frauenkirche on our way to back to the subway-- (saturday was busy) then we went to Olympia park and the BMW museum.  in the olympic pool there was a huge meet going on which was really cool - we got to go in and watch- this tiny little boy was racing kids my age in the backstroke - it was kinda scary- but he did a good job.  also the futbol field was sooo cool. i couldnt help thinking about mark and jeff here since the 2 places we spent the most time were their sports of choice and of course our 1996 olympics in GA!!- hope you guys are doing well!- then it started to rain so we headed to BMW where we played with all their promotional computer stuff in their new wing.  it was so cool- very artistic i have some awesome pictures

we finished the night at hofbrau haus making tons of new friends- this older couple that was across from us for a while and spoke no english and i of course know worthless german (shiza, ich liebe dich, bier, bitte, lederhosen, danke), so we had a great time playing pictionary with them. it was so funny then we met some boys who were old enough to drink but not drive.... i think theyre on to something there.....

last but not least, today we wandered for a while then hopped on the U-Bahn to konigsplatz where there are all these museums- we just went in the modern one but i could have spent 3 days there- let alone the other museums- it was incredible ! a massive collection of modern work- there was a whole room of picassos and another of LED installations, works on paper and a whole design area which was especially cool because they had a section on design in the 60s and 70s which is what we're talking about in my italian sociology class- all the big designers and works we Just studied were there- i couldnt believe it= im going to ask if i can make a powerpoint of my pictures for extra credit, she loves that kind of stuff
