Hope you havent missed me too much! I've made some changes to my blog layout- i hope you like them. one of the perks of being surrounded by little media specialists i guess! wow i have so much to tell you all
last week was fairly normal except for a friend here turning 21 so we went out for her birthday tuesday night- and an epic game of calcio where i may have played almost a whole half if you add it up. and i grabbed a few passes and passed them on- im working for mvp by the end.....not but maybe for a nice assist or something- ( i hope thats a soccer term since cousin mark reads this sometimes) ANyways-- we won 5-0 and it was supposed to be a fairly balanced game- the problem was jenn and doug ( he went to naples with us) are unstoppable on defense- so we had 3 times the shots on goal they had. and our poor goalie almost froze to death with nothing to do hahathen it was a whirlwind of class in st peters thursday and some last minute packing for sicily
WHICH WAS INCREDIBLE
we took an overnight ferry to palermo from Naples and spent the first few hours of it singing karaoke and singing to obnoxiously american songs by bruce springstein and the YMCA! needless to say we cleared the room a ways. Friday we were woken up bright and early and rode a bus first to Segesta which holds some of the best preserced Greek Doric temples and a gorgeous theater with a great view. Doric refers to the style of column for you mere mortals who dont know htat- doric is the oldest of the Greek orders with faceted pilars topped by the simplest capital. Next we went to Selinunte which also has some incredible temples and a great view. It was so beautiful and OLD
the first night in the hotel was only exciting because we watched our first tv in 2 months- MTV true life haha
Saturday the weather was so nice you just needed a light sweather- mmm the sun was so warm!
We went to Agrigento and then the Valley of temples which is near Taormina- we spent a ton of time there it was so interesting. that night we all went out with the leader of hte trip too which was fun and stayed in a very nice hotel jenn and my room had the best balcony!
sunday was perfect weather too it was my favorite day of the trip- we went to teatro greco which ive said this a lot but i think IT had the best view. you could see mt etna in the distance and the coastline. The afternoon we wandered then hopped on a plane home. nothing exciting has happened since- i tried to post this last night but it wasnt working- kinda frustrating now pictures arent working- ill try it later tonight. talk to you soon
love you
